Nashville, TN - October 14, 2011 -- Comedian and television personality Jim Labriola will perform at the 14th Annual Good News Jail & Prison Ministry Banquet in Montrose, Colo. this Saturday, Oct. 15. Proceeds from the event, emceed by Praise Him Ministries Founder Victoria Hearst, will go to benefit the ministry at Delta Correctional Center in Delta, Colo.
Providing chaplains to the world's jails and prisons for fifty years, the non-profit organization now has more than 371 staff chaplains, serving 111 U. S. institutions in 21 states and 20+ countries. From its inception, the ministry has been primarily funded by the gifts and donations of interested individuals, businesses, and churches, with occasional support from foundations and grants. The banquet in Montrose is designed to fund efforts at one of the ministry's multiple Colorado locations.
On Sunday, Oct. 16, Labriola will also give a private performance for the inmates at Delta Correctional Facility. He comments, "This ministry is one I believe in wholeheartedly. It is such a blessing for me to be able to share the gift of laughter with those who do so much for so many men. Humor is a great form of outreach, and I look forward to connecting with the inmates as well."
